really like that you can keep your food hot while crisping up your noodles! the food is super good. make sure to ask for more sauce since without it can get a bit dry. would highly recommend the takoyaki!! it is one of the best i've tried. there's inside and outside seating all with a hot plate. the staff were all really helpful!

Delicious comfort food! The whole eating experience was amazing. When I stopped by it wasn't too busy and we were seated quickly and the food was prepped right in front of us. Always warm and amazing service.

TLDR- Okonomiyaki flavors are on the lighter side. It needs okonomi sauce and kewpie mayo for taste. Servers are quick to cater. Good to try at least one time, but I wouldn't crave this establishment in future. Bustling and packed location. Interior has nice & welcoming style though quite humid-hot (likely from the open kitchen and the restaurant doors being open). Waitress was quick to seat us and provided hand fans to help cool off. We ordered the Hiroshima Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki Mentaiko. For drinks, a white peach highball and dessert, shirokuma shaved ice. Okonomiyaki was light on flavors but I like that since I don't feel heavy and bloated from a couple bites. It's easy to eat. Takoyaki 9/10; cute plating and flavorful. Careful as it is super hot on inside. Shaved ice has GENEROUS portions; they provide small bowls but honestly it's easier to eat straight out of the original bowl. Perfect for a hot day.

I haven't had this since we were last in Hiroshima about 4 years ago. I will say that the service here was excellent. They set us up on the small side room right next to the kitchen so you can see in. The food is great and very filling. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Ambiance 9/10 Service 10/10 Cleanliness 9/10 Bathrooms 9/10 Food 10/10 Value 8/10 Will I Return? Yes!

What a cool experience to eat Okonomiyaki at the only place in the US that makes this dish! Our server was very attentive and accommodated our party of 7 very well. I enjoyed the atmosphere full of Japanese art and a TV that showed how to eat this dish properly so you don't burn your mouth. This was a great spot to entertain a group of 6+ people since they had large tables with metal cook tops. I ordered the Hiroshima Okonomiyaki and I enjoyed the taste and texture the fried squid added to the dish. It was a lot of food, so I honestly would recommend ordering an appetizer and then one of these to split with someone, plus you can always stop at Somi Somi for dessert if you're still wanting something to round out the meal.

First time actually dining at Chinchikurin, and was surprisingly not much of a hassle to dine here despite the foot traffic in Little Tokyo. One could just get on the Yelp waitlist before coming here, which is really convenient. So I came here with my girlfriend on a Saturday night, and the host promptly checked us in to our table. My girlfriend and I ordered the GOAM Okonomiyaki, the Chinchikurinyaki Okonomiyaki, and Umadare Cabbage. The umadare cabbage was honestly probably unnecessary because they packed lots of cabbage in our Okonomiyakis already. Anyway, the Okonomiyakis took about like 15 minutes to come out, and they were pretty big in portion. I was able to finish mines, while my girlfriend finished most of it. We honestly only ate half the cabbage bowl though, I would probably recommend just getting the takoyaki as an appetizer unless you need lots of fiber. Quality was pretty good for the dishes as well, and didn't feel too greasy in my opinion. Chinchikurin is a good Okonomiyaki place with really good service, but I think it's a bit overpriced for the Okonomiyaki; because it's a lot of noodles, but the protein portion could be more in relation to value. Still worth a try though, especially if you are in the heart of the Little Tokyo area and you're tired of eating ramen. 4.5/5

I wanted to meet some friends in Little Tokyo for my belated birthday celebration, and we decided to go to Chinchikurin since I had never had Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki before. We put ourselves on the Yelp waitlist and waited about 15 minutes for a party of 4 on Saturday around 12:45PM. There are several tables indoors but we were seated in one of the outdoor tables. There are grills at the table but the food is made in the kitchen and just brought out to the table griddles to keep warm. I loved the little serving spatulas. We ordered the plain edamame and agedashi takoyaki to share along with three different okonomiyaki. I definitely preferred the crispy noodles to the soft noodles (you get to choose between the two options for each okonomiyaki). While the okonomiyaki were tasty, I do wish they included more of the layers advertised in the posters on the wall. Prices were about $18-22 per okonomiyaki. Service was attentive and friendly. We finished our meal with a matcha kakigori (shaved ice), which was a fairly large bowl and perfect for sharing. It was wetter and sweeter than other shaved ices that I have had but the matcha jelly, red bean, and mochi were very satisfying. Overall, a great meal at fair prices with good service, and one of the few places to get the Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki instead of the classic Osaka version.
